The decluttering continues from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Stand up, sit down!

Even though I was supposed to be at my desk, writing, I needed to get back upstairs. I wanted to continue the momentum and finish the year - well, start the new year with those rooms in order.

This is what happened.

While the guest room was more or less organized, some of my stuff had been moved to Studio U for the big clean-up, and some had not been put away. This was the state of the room when I walked in.

Studio U is a bit messy

Stuff from the guest room

These are all ...

The motivation to declutter continues from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

You know you've got the decluttering bug bad when that's all you can think about during spin class! That little bit of space on each surface was niggling in the back of my head.

The empty space on the desk

So I took a couple of things off the desk and then put what was on the table onto the desk.

The space was quickly gone

I know -- I'm just moving the junk from one spot to another, but then I took all the "current" stuff and put it on the table. This includes some stuff that ...

Decluttering the office from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

You are going to be so proud of me! I'm so proud of me!

OK -- before being proud, I'm pretty embarrassed, and I think I should preface what I'm about to share with you with this statement:

My name is Elaine, and I am a hoarder!

This all started because we were pulling samples for Quilt Canada, and one of my colleagues always has labels on all her samples. I have to blame someone, and she gets the blame today! Although this blame is a POSITIVE thing. She uses laminated business cards. So the question was, did ...

I was SCAMMED from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK --- so I can see how people get scammed. In addition to my scratch lotto ticket, I found a Lotto Max ticket, and well -- I might as well take that with me to see if it's a winner. YES -- I know I can have the app on my phone, but I haven't reinstalled it since I got the new phone, and I rarely buy tickets.

I get to the mall and scan the Lotto Max ticket, which is a WINNER. $10!! There were two employees at the kiosk, and one of them was busy, so this woman popped ...

Empty that box! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Another box of crap bites the dust! And I was done by NOON. I was actually excited about the prospect of getting rid of the stuff. And before I knew it, the box was full again. I was tempted to keep working, but I had other things on the agenda, and I didn't want to exhaust myself with this task. But now I'm eyeing the table in the office and guestimating the number of boxes it'll take to clear it! I'm not out of the woods yet, but let's see what we can do.

Here ...

Be careful what you wish for from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was a much better day, mentally. I think my mental health is in a good place, but I felt out of sorts on the weekend. Bored perhaps? So I vowed to shake things up a bit. Well - that happened - more than I would like! Just give me a minute and I'll tell you what happened.

We had our Zoom meeting for the Monday sewing group. One of the ladies wasn't on the call as she was trying to get in touch with a dentist who could prescribe her some antibiotics for an abscess on her gums. What ...

Learning to drive from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I had TWO appointments yesterday. One was to drop some stuff off and pick up another quilt for Quilts of Valour. The other was a porch drop off.

The lady doing the porch drop off was also looking for some solid red fabrics. I dug out what I had. She brought swatches for matching, but it's darn hard. I offered her to take the four different reds home to see which one would work best in her quilt. You got to love it - we're all in this together and we're all here to help each other.

But ...

Progress in the office from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

A lot of new terms have been coined during this time. I've made up one for myself. I've become a porch picker. Yep - Not a porch pirate, but a porch picker!

Diane, who lives fairly close to me, had a couple of quilt tops that she had sewn for our community projects and she wanted a couple of new kits to sew. I volunteered to walk to her house and make the exchange, but could she please leave the items on her porch and I'd make the swap outside. I took the girls and I swear that ...

What happened in the office? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

WOW -- I'm almost speechless at what is happening in the world. Yesterday, it seemed that every minute there was a new development - a closure, a cancellation, reduced hours, services shut down. It was getting to the point that I was afraid to check e-mail. However, it's all for a good cause - we need to get a handle on flattening the curve and many companies have stepped up to the plate to make that happen. Individuals have done the same. My gym is closed! ACK!!!!  But walking outdoors is still an option and even though the weather is yucky ...

The princess and the pea from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I was at a meeting yesterday afternoon which comprised a total of 7 adults. The meeting lasted about one hour and then we all sat down to dinner. We must have been together for about 3 - 4 hours. I just realized this morning that in all that time, I never once saw a cell phone or an iPad or any sort of electronic device. How did that happen? We actually chatted with each other. We entertained each other with our stories and memories.

It was refreshing. Now how do we get that to happen more often? I'm not sure ...

I can't believe........................ from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I did work in the office yesterday. I didn't want to, but I had to. I had to at least make a start on this mess. I know from working on the basement that the more I tidy up and the more I throw away, the better I'm going to feel about the entire mess. I also know that the office is going to be hard - this is the dumping ground. That means that ANYTHING that didn't have a home, got dumped here.

There are two desks, a table, and a buffet. Oh - there's a filing ...
